With the increasing influx of people into the city due to its proximity to Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad is facing an increase in its traffic problems and inter–city and intra–city connectivity . To address this, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation wishes to conceive and implement a Bus Rapid Transportation System integrated with land use. Funds will be accessed from the central government program JNNURM. Therefore a Comprehensive Mobility Plan and Detailed Project Report for a Bus Rapid Transit System is being prepared. Our task in the process has been the integration of land use and transportation. This has been carried out through detailed survey and analysis of existing nature, intensity and extent of use. Further recommendations have been provided for revisions to the development plan of the city. Mechanisms for leveraging land as a resource have also been explored. |
